Nottingham in the late 1970s - The remains of Nottingham Canal at Wollaton

From Radford Bridge the canal ran behind Charlbury Road towards Woodyard Lane, Old Coach Road and Wollaton Colliery at Bridge Road.

After Lock 19 the canal ran beside Bridge Road, passed under Wollaton Road, and turned west towards Wollaton Vale and Moor Lane. After Coventry Lane it turned North towards Trowell and Cossall.

Most of this latter section can still be seen on the ground.

Eventually, the canal joined up with the Erewash Canal at Langley Mill Basin.
